— My Design Philosophy

Design is like a Salad.

I recently asked myself, if I had my own design studio, what would I call it and why?

Ingredient Studio.

A lot of my time is spent educating others about the design process, from clients to students.
Here’s how I explain it.

Every project starts with an Idea

These ideas often have real challenges.

I call these, Ingredients.

An Industrial Designer's job is to take complex, non-linear ideas and transform them into manufacturable products.

This requires navigating constraints, unknowns, and the realities of production.

— Designers are taught early on that

Design isn’t Linear

The ideas that are discovered are often messy, unclear, and evolving.
It’s a designer’s job to bring structure to that complexity.

Ingredients alone don’t make the product.

It’s how they’re combined, tested, and refined that determines the outcome.
